How Slabbie collects, uses, and shares information across the Slabbie app and slabbieapp.com.
This Privacy Policy describes how Slabbie, LLC (“Slabbie,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our websites, mobile applications, and related services (the “Services”). It supplements the Slabbie User Agreement and Terms of Service, and references in those documents to our “Privacy Notice,” “US Privacy Notice,” or “Global Privacy Policy” refer to this Privacy Policy. By using the Services, you acknowledge that your information will be handled as described in this Privacy Policy.
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password. Passwords are stored by our authentication provider in hashed form; we never see or store your plaintext password. When paid plans begin, we also maintain records of your subscription plan and entitlements.
Collection data you create. The card records, photos, prices, notes, and sales records you create in the app are stored locally on your device. If your plan includes cloud backup, the backed-up portions of that data (as described in the Terms of Service) are also stored on our servers. Photos included in cloud backup may be stored in compressed form.
Camera images. The app uses your device’s camera to scan cards and sealed products. Images you capture are processed to identify the item, which may include sending the image or information derived from it to our servers and service providers for identification. We may also retain scan images, and information derived from them, and use them to develop, train, and improve the accuracy of our identification and pricing services. We use retained scan images only for that purpose: we do not use them for advertising, we do not sell them, and we do not use them to identify you. We keep retained scan images for no longer than 24 months after capture. Scan images should show only the item being scanned; please avoid capturing people, documents, or other personal information in the frame.
Photos and listings you publish. If you add a photo of your own to an item’s public page, or publish a showcase (a page listing items you have chosen, with the prices you set), we store those photos and details on our servers so the pages can display them.
Offers from buyers. A public item page or showcase may let a visitor send the seller an offer. An offer includes the amount offered, an email address or phone number, and, if the visitor chooses, a name, a note, and a social media handle. We store each offer for up to 90 days and deliver it to the seller who published the page. We do not process payments for offers or send messages to the visitor on the seller’s behalf.
Device information. We register a randomly generated device identifier along with your device’s platform (iOS or Android) and time zone. This identifier is not your name, phone number, or advertising ID. We use it to deliver services to your device and as the handle for account and data deletion.
Push notification token. If you grant notification permission, we collect a push notification token so we can send you notifications you have enabled (such as price-movement alerts). If you do not grant permission, no token is collected. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings, which invalidates the token.
Payment information. The app does not collect any payment information during the free beta (through December 31, 2026). When paid plans begin, payments will be processed by a third-party payment processor; we will receive confirmation of payment and subscription status but will not store your full card number or bank account details. Purchases on our website, such as printer pre-order deposits and label supplies, are processed by our payment processor, Stripe, which collects your payment details directly; we receive the details needed to complete your order, such as your contact and shipping details, and confirmation of payment, but we do not store your full card number or bank account details.
Website forms and logs. If you join our waitlist or send us a message through the website, we collect the email address and any information you submit; these forms are processed by a service provider on our behalf. Our hosting providers log standard request information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to serve the website and keep it secure.
Support communications. If you contact support, we keep the correspondence.
Location. We do not collect your location. Bluetooth printer scanning on Android is configured to declare that it is never used for location purposes.
Contacts, calendars, or photo library. The app captures photos with the camera. It asks to use your photo library only when you choose an image to add, such as a logo for your labels, and uses only the image you select. It does not request access to your contacts or calendar.
Third-party analytics and advertising. The app and our website contain no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs or scripts.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
Do Not Track. Because we do not track you across third-party websites or online services, we do not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
We use the information described above to: provide and operate the Services (including card identification, pricing, label printing, and cloud backup); send notifications you have enabled; maintain the security and integrity of the Services; comply with our legal and contractual obligations; respond to support requests; develop, train, and improve our identification and pricing services using retained scan images as described in Section 1; and improve the Services.
Service providers. We use third-party providers to operate the Services, including cloud hosting and database providers, an authentication provider, an image identification provider, a website form provider, and a payment processor (for website purchases now, and for subscriptions when paid plans begin). These providers process information on our behalf, under agreements that limit their use of it to providing services to us.
Sellers. When a visitor sends an offer through a public item page or showcase, we share the offer and the contact details in it with the seller who published that page, so the seller can respond.
Data licensors. Pricing, population, and identification data in the Services comes from licensed third-party data providers. Our license agreements require us to keep records of how licensed data is accessed and used, and to make those records available to the licensor on request. Those records are service logs (which requests were made, by which system, when); they are not your collection contents.
Legal. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Slabbie, our users, or others.
Business transfers. If Slabbie is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
Labels printed through the Services may carry a QR code linking to a public item page. Public item pages display information about the item (such as its identification, grading information, and pricing data) and, for storefront features, may display a store or vendor name, website link, and logo. Public item pages may also display a photo you have added and a price you have set, and showcase pages display the items, photos, and prices you choose to publish. Public item pages do not display your email address or account information. Public item pages are reachable by anyone with the link and may be indexed by search engines. If you delete your account, we remove your store or vendor name, website link, link label, and logo from every public item page you have published; the page itself may remain reachable and continue to identify the item. Photos you have published and showcase pages are not removed automatically when you delete your account; you can retire a showcase or replace a photo in the app, or ask us to remove them as described in Section 7.
Local data stays on your device and under your control; deleting the app deletes it.
Cloud backup is retained as described in the Terms of Service: if your subscription lapses, your backup becomes read-only after the grace period and is retained so you can restore access. You may request deletion of your cloud backup at any time.
Retained scan images are kept for no longer than 24 months after capture, as described in Section 1.
Offers are kept for up to 90 days after they are sent.
Service and API logs are retained for up to two (2) years to meet security, compliance, and contractual obligations to our data licensors.
Account records are retained while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your account records, except for limited records we must keep for legal, tax, accounting, or security purposes, and copies held in routine backups, which are overwritten in the ordinary course within a commercially reasonable period.
Notifications: enable or disable in the app or your device settings at any time.
Cloud backup: availability follows your plan; you may request deletion of backed-up data.
Account deletion: you may delete your account from within the app or by contacting support. Deleting your account removes your authentication credentials, account records, and cloud backup from our servers and removes your shop name, website link, link label, and logo from every public item page you have published, subject to the retention exceptions in Section 6; data stored locally on your device remains yours.
Access, correction, and deletion requests. Wherever you live, you may ask us to access, correct, delete, or provide a copy of the personal information we hold about you by contacting us as described in Section 12. We will verify your request, for example by confirming it from the email address on your account, and respond within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect information, including transport encryption and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; you are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
The Services are intended for adults. As provided in the User Agreement, you must have reached the age of legal majority where you live to create an account. The Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 or from anyone who has not reached the age required to hold an account. If we learn that we have, we will delete it and close the account.
The Services are intended for users in the United States and Canada and are operated from the United States. Information we collect is processed and stored in the United States by us and our service providers, and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities in the United States. If you are located in Canada, you may contact us as described in Section 12 to access or correct your personal information or to ask about our practices, including our use of service providers outside Canada. We do not direct the Services to users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Services change. The “Last Updated” date reflects the most recent version, and material changes will be communicated as provided in the User Agreement’s Electronic Notices section. If we make a material change to how we use personal information we have already collected, we will ask for your consent before applying that change to that information.
